PONY STOCK RULES

(Paris Motor Speedway (PMS), reserves the right to inspect any car at any time. No car will be
considered as having been approved for safety and/or deemed legal by reason of having passed through
inspection, unobserved.)

IF THESE RULES DON'T SAY "YOU CAN", THEN "YOU CAN'T"!

BODY:
1.  Two or four door sedan, with steel top. Station
   Wagon, & mini trucks are okay. No convertibles
   allowed. Production wheel base is limited to max. of
   102". Complete bodies, hoods, & trunk lids must
   remain stock.

2.  Cars must have complete frame, unless uni-body
   design. No cutting allowed.

3.  All cars must have a min. 6-point roll cage. All roll
   cages must be made of 1.5" O.D.,  .095 wall
   thickness, min. Steel tubing, with all corners bent.
   All cages must have three horizontal  bars running
   from front to back, between the upright bars on both
   sides of the driver.  Cage must have a min. of 2" x 6"
   x .125" plate under  floor, with ( two) 1/2" bolts    
   through each plate. Any bracing inside the car body is
   allowed. Under the hood bracing is okay. No bracing
   under the fenders. All interior, glass, chrome, door
   handles, lights, trim and/or anything else that might
   come loose on impact, must be removed. No mirror
   of any kind allowed. All doors  must be welded, or
   bolted closed. Fenders may be cut for tire clearance
   only. All cars must have a complete OEM firewall,
   separating the engine and the driver, and complete
   firewall separating the fuel container and the driver.
   No channel or angle iron allowed outside body of car.
   Nurf bars optional.  Must be within 1" of the body and
   turned inside to the body, at the ends. All cars must
   have a min. of two hood pins.

BUMPERS:


1. OEM bumpers or tubular bumpers, max. 1.5" O.D.,     
   with ends capped, are allowed.

2  Must be approved by the track.

ENGINES:

1.   In-line 4-cylinder engines.( Carb. type only). Max.
    .060" over bore allowed.

2.        Must have working starter. Max. block size 2.3L on Ford's, 2.4L on Foreign, 2.5L on GM.

3.        No rotary engines, turbo's, or dual overhead cams allowed. One spark plug per cylinder.

4.        Engine must remain in stock location, with stock mounts.

5.        Short chain may be used to secure engine to the frame.

6.        Stock engines, (with the exception of, stock Chevy 5.700"  rods, No aftermarket crank, OEM only). May not change stroke. 1 spark
plug per cylinder. May put ARP rod bolts. Engine must match car make and model. Must use stock intake (no porting and/or polishing).
Tubing header, okay. No marine intake, or marine parts of any kind. Ford may use unaltered OEM fuel injected type intake, okay. Heads
may be milled. No porting or polishing  to head. Head may be cut for larger valves. No modifying of valve guide. OEM carburator for make
and model is allowed. Optional, one Holley 4412 two-barrel, 500cfm carburator, or 350cfm carburator,
#0-80787-1, or #0-7448. Must maintain stock venture bore, stock throttle body, stock booster location and height. Will be checked with a
no/no-go gauge. No modifications allowed, other than jets. Battery type ignition in stock location only. No magnetos, dual points, MSD
type boxes or any other after-market electronic ignitions allowed.


DRIVE-TRAIN:

1.   Standard shift cars may use stock fly wheel only,
    (Surface only!! NO milling of any kind). Stock clutch    
    only. Automatic cars must use torque converter.

2.        All cars must have a clutch scatter shield, or blanket of 6" width and 12" length. Scatter shields may be fabricated from 1/4" min.
steel and secured to the floor, covering the clutch area. Transmission must have all gears working. Locked rear-ends are allowed. No
limited slip.

3.        Rear-ends must be stock for car make and model.

4.        All drive shafts must be painted white and have 1/4" X 2" steel or 1" round tubing safety loop.

SUSPENSION:

1.        Stock for cars make and model. Spacer may be used with stock type, or aftermarket springs.

2.        No weight jacks allowed. No alteration of any kind to strut tires.

3.        No A-frame mounts, or spring hangers of any kind.

TIRES & WHEELS:

1.        Any steel wheel with a max. 8" width. No aluminum wheels. Tires must have D.O.T. # on side wall.

2.        Tires must be 60 series street tires or HOOSIER Dirt Boss. Hoosier tires only!

3.        Bead locks okay on right side of car only. No grooving of tires allowed.


RADIATOR:

1.        Must remain in stock location.

STEERING:

1.        The stock steering box (rack and pinion), must be in
    original location, on the frame. No center steering.   
    Quick steer okay.

BATTERIES:

1.        Battery must be re-located in trunk compartment, in  
     a marine box, secured with two steel straps & 3/8  
     bolts.

BRAKES:

1.    All cars must have a min. of two wheel working
     brakes, on rear axle. Three or four brakes   
     recommended.

2.        Aftermarket dual master cylinder, with one brake bias is okay.





FUEL:  
1.  Manual pump only. No electric fuel pumps! Minimum    
   8 gallon fuel cell, must be in a min. 18 gauge steel    
   container.

2.  Cell must be mounted to floor board with 2" straps/  
   .125" thick. "Fast- Fill" flapper valve kit mandatory  
   (ALL CLASSES) Rollover valve, on vent is           
   mandatory (ALL CLASSES). Part #390250,  
   Performance Bodies.

3.  Electric fuel pumps are allowed only if it has an oil  
   pressure shut-off switch and a main shut-off switch.
   (Track will furnish wiring diagram)

PROTEST RULE:
1.  All protest's must be made in writing, by driver ONLY,      BEFORE "A"  main,  with cash in hand. One item per   
   protest.     
   

***ENGINE PROTEST- $200 cash, $25 to track. If legal, protested car gets $175,  If "illegal",   protester gets $175 back.

***SUSPENSION -$100 cash, $25 to track. If legal, protested car gets $75, if "illegal", protester gets $75 back.

***ALL OTHERS-$75 CASH, $25 to track. If legal, protested car gets $50, if "illegal", protester gets $50 back.
