(Paris Motor Speedway reserves the right to inspect any car at any time. No car will be considered as having
been approved for safety and/or deemed legal by reason of having passed through inspection
unobserved).
IF THESE RULES DON'T SAY "YOU CAN", THEN "YOU CAN'T"!
1. SAFETY EQUIPMENT: Rules apply at all times car is in competition. Snell-rated- SA90, 95, SA2000, OR
SA2005 helmet required. Roll bar padding required in driver's compartment (fire retardant recommended). SFI
approved full fire suite, fire retardant neck brace, gloves and shoes required. Driver's side window net required,
minimum of 16x20 ribbon or mesh style, and must be mounted so latch is at the top front of window. Minimum 3"
wide five point safety belt assembly required. Must be mounted securely to roll cage. Recommended, no more
than two yrs old. Kill switch required within easy reach of driver, & must be clearly marked "OFF/ON".
2. FRAME: American made passenger car stock frame. Rear suspension must match frame used and stock
location. Uni-body cars may fab from stock frame to rear of car but must use stock type suspension for frame
used, Example: Camaro, Nova, steel leaf spring, front mount no more than 4" high stock frame rail.
3. ROLL CAGE:
A. Main roll cage must be consistent of continuous hoops not less than 1-1/2"X .095". All welds must be
complete. No brazing or soldering. No part of main cage may extend forward past rear motor plate. Rear loop
must be attached to the frame in front of the tires.
B. Main roll bar and halo must be a minimum of 1" above the driver's helmet.
C. A minimum of three(3) driver's door bars, and two(2) passenger side door bars is required.
D. Four(4) bars, two per side, may extend from the main roll cage to the points on the main frame in front of the
upper control arms. These bars may have two additional braces per side to the main frame.
E. Six(6) bars may extend from the main cage to the rear, X-bracing is allowed.
F. Door plates are mandatory 18gauge or .049-inch minimum thickness, must be securley welded to outside of
drivers sidee door bars and cover area from top door bar to bottom door bar and from rear hoop down- post to
5-inches in front of seat.
G. Cages must be steel or chromoly.
H. New cars are recommended to be built out of 1 3/4" roll cage.
6. Door Bars: All driver side door bars and uprights must be a minimum of 1.5 inch O.D. and .083-inch wall
thickness. Minimum three driver side door bars, parallel to ground, and perpendicular to driver, and welded to
front and rear of roll cage. Passenger side must have at least (one) cross door bar, horizontal or angled,
minimum of 1.25" O.D. and .083" wall thickness.
7. BODY: Any American made OEM produced COUPE OR SEDAN BODY AND REAR WHEEL DRIVE allowed.
Air filters can pass through hood a max of 6". No ram air,or fresh air systems, mud guard in front of filter okay.
All exterior lamps and trim must be removed. All openings in firewall must be covered with sheet metal so as to
isolate driver compartment from engine trunk/fuel cell and ground areas. Minimum wheel base 108 inches.
Wheel base must remain stock according to year model of body used. Aftermarket plastic nose-pieces that look
stock will be allowed. Body must be a minimum of 5 inches from the ground, 7" max on sun visor, 8" spoilers are
legal, 8" tall maximum.
AFTERMARKET BODIES ALLOWED. Aftermarket bodies steel or aluminum allowed, bodies must be neat in
appearance and pass track's approval. Driver must be sealed off from track, drive-line, engine, and fuel cell.
8. DRIVER COMPARTMENT: Minimum of three windshield bars in front of driver. Aluminum high-back seat
only, bolted to roll cage. Seat must be in front of left rear tire. Driver must be sealed off from track, drive-line,
engine, and fuel cell. Inside rear quarter panels, below window level, may be removed. Doors may be gutted,
roof may be trimmed for roll cage clearance. Kick and rocker panels may be removed. Dash must be flat, rear
can be no higher than front, except for cowl in front driver. No driver-adjustable devices allowed while car is in
competition except brake adjuster. No mirrors or reflective sun visors.
9. FRONT SUSPENSION: All components and mounts must be steel, unaltered OEM, in OEM location and
match frame. Rubber, nylon, or steel lower A-frame bushings only, no offset or bearing type. OEM sway bars
allowed. Weight jacks optional, must be in original centerline of spring tower. OEM upper A-frame may be
replaced using aftermarket upper A-frame, single hole shock mounts only. Shock location may be moved, but
cannot go through center of aftermarket upper A-frame.
10. STEERING: OEM steering gear box in stock location for frame used. Quick steer boxes okay. Aftermarket
pump okay. Aftermarket steering wheel with disconnect okay. Driver must sit in left front quadrant of race car,
no further back than rear edge of front door.
11. SHOCKS: One unaltered steel, non-adjustable, non-take apart per wheel. Left and Right front maybe
located behind A-frame all other shocks must be in OEM location, one(1) per wheel. No coil over shocks, air
shocks, remote reservoir shocks or Schrader valves. No coil over eliminators. Aftermarket shocks O.K.
12. SPRINGS: One(1) steel spring per wheel only in OEM location. All coil springs must be minimum 4.5" O.D.
and non-progressive.
13. SUSPENSION: Rear leaf, coil, or torsion bar as OEM produced for make frame used. Steel racing springs
okay. Coils must be minimum 4 1/2" outside diameter. No coil overs. All springs must be mounted in stock
location. Only one spring & one shock per wheel. Weight jacks and rear leaf spring shackles okay. No
fabricated or aftermarket traction devices or suspension components.
14. REAR-END: Must be locked, spool or mini-spool recommended. Aftermarket axles okay. 9" Ford okay. No
limited slips, such as: Gold/Track, Detroit Locker, ETC. Floaters okay.
15. BUMPERS & RUB RAILS: Front and rear bumpers required. Stock or fabricated okay. No sharp edges.
Front bumpers may not extend beyond inside tire width except cars with nose-pieces. Fabricated bumpers may
be no more than 1 3/4" O.D. X .125 wall round tube or 2X3X.125 wall rectangle. Fabricated bumpers must be
capped at ends. Nurf bars allowed. One bar per side on doors, and quarter panels. Nerf bars can be 2"
maximum from body. No larger than 1 1/2" round tubing on nerf bars, 1"X2" square tubing.
16. TIRES & WHEELS: Must run Hoosier 2045 asphalt pull-off on right rear. Other three tires may be street
type passenger car tires. Must have D.O.T. # & tread design. IMCA G60 Hoosiers , okay. Hoosier asphalt
pull-offs only, but must durometer 51 or higher. Tires are subject to track approval. Hoosier tires only!
17. WHEELS: 15" dia. steel wheels only, maximum 10" width, race wheels okay. 1" steel lug nuts required. May
use bead lock on right front & right rear only.
18. BRAKES: Must be steel approved OEM drum or disc. Must maintain OEM dimensions for hubs/rotars and
calipers cannot be lightened. Three wheel brakes okay.
19. EXHAUST: Round tube headers only. No Y pipes or X pipes. Dual exhaust and mufflers allowed.
20. FUEL SYSTEM: Mechanical OEM type push rod fuel pumps only. Single two or four barrel only. No dual
carbs. Aftermarket air filters okay. Aftermarket fuel pumps okay. No electric fuel pumps. May run two barrel
alcohol carbuerator, no bigger than 500 C.F.M. to be checked with "no-go" gauge.
21. FUEL: Methanol can only be used with one, two barrel 500 C.F.M. No performance enhancing additives.
"Fast-fill" flapper valve kit, (part #390250, Performance Bodies). Roll-over vent valve, mandatory (ALL
CLASSES).
22. WEIGHT: Must weigh at least 3,000 pounds after race with driver in car. No tolerance by track scales. No
weights, and/or loose objects in driver compartment or outside body. Weights must be securely mounted to
frame or roll cage, and painted white with car number on it Must be attached with at least two .5 inch bolts..
23. BATTERY/STARTER: One 12-volt passenger car battery only, securely mounted to frame or roll cage, in
metal frame behind seat or in trunk area. Starter must bolt in OEM location. Must have capability of starting
without being pushed or pulled. Must leave initial staging area on demand, un-aided, or go to rear of that race.
24. GAUGES/ELECTRONICS:
A. All cars must have ignition switch labeled.
B. Ignition switch must be located within reach when standing outside the car (EASILY ACCESSIBLE TO
EMERGENCY PERSONNEL).
C. Stock or stock style ignition only. Ford may use Motorcraft or Ford Motor Company, including box. Mopar
may use Mopar, including box. HEI legal on Ford or Mopar.
D. HEI must remain in one unit, no external coils allowed, unless you are using dual or single point distributor.
E. MSD or any module may be used as long as it fits inside the distributor, with no alteration. Vacuum advance
may be removed, and the pick-up coil locked.
F. MSD, any brand, or GM electronic boxes are not allowed. No magnetos.
25. TRANSMISSION/DRIVE SHAFT: Automatic or standard OEM, approved okay on any car. Driver must be
able to put car in forward, neutral, and reverse , while running. Transmission cooler okay, and may be attached
to cage scatter shields or blow proof bell housing mandatory. No aluminum bell housing allowed! Mini-clutch or
Direct-drive okay, but must be mounted to the crankshaft.
26.DRIVE SHAFT: Minimum two-inch diameter steel drive shaft must be painted white. Steel slip-yokes only.
360 degree drive shaft loop required and must be constructed of at least .25"x2" steel, or 1" tubing, mounted 6"
back from U-joint.
27. ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Number one plug in line within 2" of center line of both ball joints. Aftermarket
or fabricated motor mounts okay. Rear engine mount be solid mounts or plates. Aftermarket engine mounts
allowed, including mid-plate. Engine must be OEM appearing, must be able to be used in conventional
passenger car without alteration. GM with GM, Ford with Ford, Chrysler with Chrysler. Cooling systems may be
modified. Copper/brass or aluminum radiator, and must be mounted in front of engine. Overflow tubes must be
directed to ground, between frame rails. Accumulators and accu-sumps allowed, but cannot be mounted on
door bars.
28. ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS: Cast iron stock OEM American made blocks only. No Chevy big blocks, or 400
small blocks. Any flat tappet cam. No mushroom, or roller of any type. No gear or belt driven cams.
Roller-Rocker arms okay. Cylinder heads, cast iron only, no porting or polishing. Intake must be cast iron or
aluminum. 23 degree motors only.
29. PROTEST RULE: All protest's must be made in writing, by driver ONLY, BEFORE "A" main, with cash in
hand. One item per protest.
***ENGINE PROTEST- $200 cash, $25 to track. If legal, protested car gets $175, If "illegal", protester gets
$175 back.
***SUSPENSION -$100 cash, $25 to track. If legal, protested car gets $75, if "illegal", protester gets $75 back.
***ALL OTHERS-$75 CASH, $25 to track. If legal, protested car gets $50, if "illegal", protester gets $50 back.
